Crysis 2

Tijdens een interview met GamaSutra vertelde de Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli dat de PlayStation 3 tot het uiterste zal worden gedreven met Crysis 2.

Na de Electronic Art’s E3 pers conferentie, welke bevestigde dat Crytek werkt aan een nieuwe Crysis game voor de consoles, bevestigde Yerli dat Crysis 2 tijdens hardware tests op de PlayStation 3 het uiterste uit de PlayStation 3’s hardware werd gehaald.

“The interesting thing is we did run a performance analysis on the PS3 devkit, and you know the funny thing is the occupation on all the CPUs, the Cell and the GPUs, is pretty much – the needle is at the limit,”

Met de vraag welke console zijn game beter liet weergeven op het scherm antwoordde hij neutraal, volgens hem hebben beide platforms hun plus- en minpunten.

“I mean essentially the game we run is about the same,

Probably one’s stronger on the GPU side, one’s stronger on the CPU side, so depending on what you’re doing where, the PS3 does perform here sometimes better, the 360 performs other things better, but overall by the time the game ships it’ll be absolutely the same.”

Als de eerste gameplay beelden verschijnen zien we of de PlayStation 3 daadwerkelijk fotorealistische graphics kan laten zien, tot die tijd zullen we naar beelden moeten kijken van CryEngine 3.
