Zoals je al kon lezen krijgen de Amerikaanse gamers aangesloten op het PlayStation Network een jaar lang gratis een ‘extra beveiligd account’ aangeboden via AllClearID Plus. Daarna liet Sir Howard Stringer weten in een open brief dat Sony ook bezig was hiermee voor Europa.

Zojuist heeft Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) laten weten via het officiële Europese PlayStation Blog dat ze dichtbij zijn voor zo’n overeenkomst voor elke PlayStation Network gamer in Europa. Doordat Europa zoveel landen heeft is het voor SCEE moeilijker om zo’n regeling te treffen, maar ze zijn er in ieder geval nu dichtbij.

“As you will have read in the letter from Sir Howard Stringer, that we posted a few hours ago, in the US we are offering all PSN users one year’s free access to an identity protection scheme. I can assure you that here in the SCEE region, we are working incredibly hard to offer you something very similar. As is often the case here, with so many countries in our region, this is a very complicated thing to achieve, but we are close.
