De open-wereld survival horror zombie game Dying Light is zelf nog lang geen dovend lichtje, zo blijkt vandaag wel weer. In 2018 ontvangt de game namelijk een stand-alone uitbreiding die draait om PvP multiplayer. Deze uitbreiding heet ‘Bad Blood’ en komt naar de game op aanvraag van fans en spelers van Dying Light. Gezien de stijgende populariteit van het Battle Royale-genre, heeft men besloten ook Dying Light hiermee te vergezellen.

De nieuwe modus die de uitbreiding naar Dying Light brengt, zorgt er ook voor dat PvE elementen met de gameplay gemengd worden. Jij en vijf andere spelers worden namelijk gedropt op een map vol met zombies. Vervolgens is het aan jullie de taak om zo snel mogelijk de map te verlaten, alvorens het donker wordt. Om echter een plek te krijgen in de evacuatie helikopter, moet je eerst bloed van de zombies vergaren.

Spelers moeten dan onderweg voor wapens zorgen en on-the-fly een band met elkaar opbouwen en samenwerken om verder te komen. Deze samenwerkingen zijn echter van korte duur, want het is tenslotte in essentie een PvP-game. Als jij dus een ander moet ‘naaien’ om in die helikopter te kunnen, dan ga je ervoor.

  • RAPID LOOTING – You and five other players are dropped into a hostile, zombie-infested area. Each of you has the same goal: to evacuate before the night falls.   • EVACUATION – The more samples the players harvest collectively, the more seats are unlocked. But everyone pays for their seat individually, which means the alliances are short-lived and can easily end with a stab in the back.
