Eind vorig jaar kondigde uitgever Idea Factory aan dat Dragon Star Varnir in de lente van dit jaar in het Westen uit zou gaan komen, nadat de RPG van ontwikkelaar Compile Heart eerder al in Japan uitkwam. Inmiddels is het bekend wanneer de game hier precies uitkomt.
Idea Factory en Compile Heart hebben nu namelijk onthuld dat Dragon Star Varnir in Europa op 14 juni verschijnt voor de PlayStation 4. De game is vanaf die dag digitaal te koop via de PlayStation Store, maar er zal ook een fysieke versie van de RPG uitkomen.
Samen met de aankondiging van de releasedatum werd er ook nog een nieuwe trailer van Dragon Star Varnir vrijgegeven, die het battle-systeem van het spel uitlicht. Daarnaast deelde de uitgever ook nog een beschrijving van het verhaal en ook die vind je hieronder.
In a world where the bones of an ancient beast tower over the land… Zephy, a young warrior, is part of a respected group whose role is to hunt and kill witches – a group of people cursed with the affliction of giving birth to dragons. When he is almost killed on one of these hunting missions, two mysterious witches save him from the brink of death by feeding him the blood of a dragon.
Granted new magic abilities thanks to their efforts, he soon finds his fate intertwined with that of the witches and reluctantly joins them to fight against the Empire he once served, vicious dragon hunters, and a witch more powerful than any in existence. Can they fight against all of this and save themselves, or will his new allies succumb to the dragon’s curse?
