Vorige maand verscheen Forza Horizon 5 op de Xbox Series X, Xbox One en pc, maar die launch ging gepaard met een hoop problemen. De studio die instaat voor de ontwikkeling van de game is echter op de hoogte en komt met alweer een nieuwe update.
Deze update zorgt ervoor dat de restricties die geplaatst werden op bepaalde evenementen aangepast zijn zodat meer spelers alsnog kunnen deelnemen. Ook de Horizon Arcade minigames zijn van een update voorzien om het spelersaantal op te krikken. Het is een eerste stap in de goede richting en Playground Games belooft te werken aan nog meer hotfixes en updates tot Forza Horizon 5 de game is die spelers verwachten.
Als verontschuldiging krijgt iedere speler 1000 Forzathon Points die men kan spenderen aan nieuwe wagens, horens, kledij of velgen in de Forzathon Shop.

En de game is nu in een nog slechtere staat. Online is nog steeds een drama en crashes, freezes en andere problemen zijn met de update meegekomen.

Ben echt telleurgesteld in FH5. En wie de F heeft dit artikel geschreven?!?! Bij een vorige post ook al zo slecht geschreven.
Helaas liep de game vandaag nog helemaal vast, nog nooit gehad met vorige delen
Een hoop problemen ? En dan krijgt hij hier wel een dikke 9,5. Hoe moeten we dat zien, de ene game wordt er totaal op afgemaakt en bij de andere is het geen onderwerp. Hoe zit dat Play-sense ?
k heb tot op heden geen problemen ervaren. Het spel loopt als een zonnetje. Ik speel geen online races, daar zullen dan de problemen wel inzitten. Leuk spel, ik kan er maar moeilijk mee stoppen als ik het speel. Het online gebeuren pak ik op zodra daar de kinderziektes uit zijn verdwenen.
De eerste game uit de serie welke na meer als 10 uur saai wordt 🙁
@The Dutch Hunter: De nuance in je (terechte) vraag zit hem vooral in de zwaarte van de issues, want de ene bug is de andere niet en dan moet je als reviewer nog de pech/mazzel hebben dat je ook daadwerkelijk die bug ervaart.
Ik ben door de bovenstaande lijst gegaan en doe hier nu even de aanname dat je vooral geïmponeerd bent door de lengte van de lijst, niet de inhoud. Om een paar voorbeelden aan te halen: het fixen van typo’s, een kleuraanpassing op de remklauwen of dat leden van een Convoy verschillende eindscores voorgeschoteld krijgen.
Dit zijn er maar een paar onder de categorie ‘dit moet je net maar zien/meemaken/weten’, maar ik zie meerdere van dit soort zaken in de lijst staan waarvan je je kunt afvragen of dit wel problemen zijn en geen QoL-verbeteringen. Daarnaast is het als reviewer onmogelijk om een game op (bij wijze van) iedere foute pixel af te rekenen, zeker niet met zo’n uitgebreide game als FH5 en de (relatief) beperkte tijd waar je mee zit.
Dan is er nog het probleem over het verschil tussen de ‘livegang’ die de pers meemaakt, en de echte livegang voor jullie, de spelers en dat zeker met titels die een uitgebreid online component hebben. Je zit immers met een veel minder aantal spelers samen te spelen dan dat er na de launch gebeurt, wat dus ook minder druk legt bij de servers en infrastructuur. In die zin is de ervaring die wij als reviewers hebben niet (altijd) een 1:1 kopie van de launch een paar dagen/uren later (en ook hier moet je maar de pech/mazzel hebben dat je tegen deze issues aanloopt en daarover kan rapporteren).
Het is niet om de problemen te bagatelliseren (het is natuurlijk goed dat Playground Games hard bezig is) of om jouw opmerking af te schieten, maar meer de hoop dat je de nuance kunt zien en dat het niet zo zwart-wit is als het soms lijkt. Als je nog andere vragen hebt, shoot :)!
@Magnolia: het is jammer dat bij PlaySense de multiplayer vaak niet wordt meegenomen in de beoordeling, terwijl dat juist 1 van de belangrijke speerpunten van de community is.
Bij Fifa wordt de multiplayer nauwelijks gecheckt. Serverwise heb je daar vaak problemen. Nu bv. met Xbox X/S die nauwelijk tegenstanders vindt of lag heeft.
Van andere games wordt de multiplayer ook vaak niet meegenomen. Begrijpelijk, want je wilt snel zijn met een review, maar aan de andere kant heeft de community niks aan een snelle review als online niet wordt meegenomen.
